About Joan Fleur

Joan Fleur is a native of New York City, yet her inspiration comes mostly from nature. She is enamored with lighting, color, texture and especially repitition. She began as a small girl making intricate patterns with beads, stringing and weaving them.  Later, she tried other art forms including painting, collage, and textile design, but it was jewelry making and wearable art that won her heart.

Joan's work is extremely varied, using many different materials and techniques in combination with a wide variety of beads, shells and stones from around the world. You can enjoy her pieces in many ways; wearing, or displaying them as wall hangings.

Often she is commissioned by people who want her to incorporate their family heirlooms or pieces of art. With them, she creates hangings, jewelry or wearable art. These exquisite pieces are an inspiration to her so she especially enjoys working this way. You can arrange for a visit to see her work at her studio in Manhattan and she is also accepting commissions at this time. For her studio visits and commissions, Please Contact Us. If you reside outside of the United States, and you would like to purchase these artworks, also please Contact Us for the shipping rate.
